As a new Lunar New Year dawns, we’re taking stock of the year that was, and sending warm wishes for our mutual success in the year of the Ox!
Our work always takes us close to emergencies and 2020 had its share of those! We are proud to serve as translators and interpreters for our LEP communities who need services, especially during the current crises. So lets take a moment to appreciate our wonderful clients who do such a great job serving them and who are now more committed than ever to equity goals.
Our team has been growing to fulfill your expanding needs. We are still doing a lot of captions, print materials and advertising, but as a result of the pandemic, we have been busy expanding these services in particular:
- Zoom interpreting – including ASL
- OPI (over the phone interpretation)
- Inter-Cultural Facilitation
- Web Localization
The public sector has been dominant for the same reasons, but we have also been working with manufacturers who are mostly growing in their overseas markets and we are happy that there is an increased awareness of the non-English speaking populations.
Our internship program has yielded another generation of staff people around the world. They are trained in Berkeley, but now working locally in native environments Spain, Argentina and China; giving us a definitive edge in sourcing resources and delivering timely, competitively priced work. We love our students (now staff) and wish you all a very Happy New Year!
