Two-tier translation is defined as a comprehensive translation (usually in-country), which is then thoroughly reviewed by the respective local language team to assure proper localization and accuracy to the English original. This ensures that the most up-to-date native vocabulary is used, while making certain that the client’s original intent is conveyed. The two-tier process also includes incorporating one round of client language changes.
One-tier translation entails only the comprehensive translation by a language specialist with experience in the field. Should there be language changes from client reviewers, these incur additional review charges to incorporate.
We recommend all copy be reviewed and 90% of our work is two-tier. However, clients who have internal reviewers and in-language production capabilities may opt for the less expensive option.
